December 5, 1923 ~ October 29, 2022

Rhoda Aline Sullivan, 98, of Smithville, Oklahoma went to her heavenly home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at the Broken Bow Health & Rehab in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.

She was born on Wednesday, December 5, 1923 to Nicholas Edison and Rosanna Jones Jefferson in Smithville, Oklahoma.

Rhoda was a proud Choctaw woman and loved her heritage and her culture and was an Elder of the Choctaw Nation. Rhoda attended Nanih Chito Presbyterian Church for many years. Rhoda loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She loved to sew quilt tops and singing Choctaw hymns. Rhoda was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend and will be missed and loved by all who knew her.

Rhoda was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband; Mark Lewis; her second husband, Hershel Sullivan; her daughter, Dora Barrett; three brothers, Lee Jefferson, David Jefferson and Raphael Jefferson and two sisters, Minnie Edwards and Minnie Barnes.

Rhoda is survived by her sons, Travis Sullivan of Smithville, Oklahoma and Charles Lewis of Shawnee, Oklahoma; three daughters, Julia Watson of Watson, Oklahoma, Martha Watson of Watson, Oklahoma and LaDonna Johnson of Smithville, Oklahoma; {children with Mark Lewis, three children, Charley, Dora and Julia}, sixteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at the Nanih Chito Presbyterian Church at Smithville, Oklahoma with Brother Nathan Watson officiating. Interment will follow in the Nanih Chito Cemetery. No wake service is planned. Arrangements are entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers will be Corey McBroom, Donald Watson, Brian Watson, Terry Watson, Mark Cogburn and Robert Barrett.
