Nicholas E. Jefferson, 83, Smithville, died Tuesday morning in the US Indian Hospital at Talihina.
Born May 14, 1896 in Smithville, I.T., Jefferson had lived in that area all of his life. He was a retired farmer and rancher and a member of the Presbyterian church.
Survivors include three sons, David and Lee of Smithville and Raphael of San Francisco, Cal.; three daughters, Rhodie Sullivan and Minnie Edwards of Smithville and Faye Barnes of Kansas City, Kan.; one brother, Harry Jefferson of Valliant; one sister, Levicy Tonihka of Golden; 19 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.
Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Friday in the Nanih Chito Presbyterian Church near Smithville, with the Rev. John Bohanan, assisted by the Rev. Alfred Huff, officiating.
Arrangements and burial in the Nanih Chito Cemetery are under the direction of Coffey-Ruiz Funeral Home.
