WILLIAM GEORGE WHITE
William George White was born April 17, 1854, at Hemmingford, Quebec, Canada, and departed this life March 15, 1931, at the home of his only son George in Sage township, Gladwin county, at the age of 76 years, 10 months and 26 days.
In his boyhood days he moved with his parents to Haliburton county, Ontario, Canada, where he helped to make a home out of the heavy timbered land. He worked at the lumbering business and railroad work for many years to help maintain the home.
April, 1881, he was united in marriage to Sadie Maxwell who preceded him in death May 26, 1884. To this union were born two children, one daughter, Lillian Maude, later Mrs. Emmett Clingerman, who departed this life March 21, 1926, and one son, George of Gladwin, Mich., who survives him.
In April, 1910, he moved to Gladwin, Mich., where he had previously purchased a farm. He was a loving father, patient in disposition and gained the confidence of every one whom he became associated with. He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, being baptized into the same Aug 30, 1909. He continued a faithful member, striving to live in accordance to the divine teachings of the Master at all times.
He leaves to mourn his departure his son, George, and wife and family, where he will be greatly missed in the home; one sister, Mrs. David Madill of Cando, Saskatchewan; three
brothers, John White of Toronto, Ont., Albert White of Gooderham, Ont., and Samuel White of Lacomb, Alberta; and a host of friends and relatives and his many brothers and sisters in the church.
Funeral sevices were held Thursday, March 19, at the L. D. S. church at Section Eight, conducted by Elder George W. Burt, followed by internment in Ridge cemetery beside his
