EDITH [CURRY] KIRK ~ (21 June 1920~12 March 2004)

She is the daughter of the late Rev. Harvey 'Harve' Curry and Lucinda [Farley] Curry.

She was born in Elk Creek on June 21, 1920. She died March 12, 2004 of natural causes at the Skilled Nursing Unit of the Appalachian Regional Hospital in South Williamson, Kentucky.

She was one of the first women in the Armed Marine Corps (WAMC). She was a teacher for 35 years at Burch High School and a former owner of flower and dress shops. She was a life-long member of the W.H. Connolly Memorial Baptist Church in Delbarton.

She was preceded in death by her parents and nine brothers and six sisters.

Survivors, her husband, Rudolph Kirk; son, Wally Kirk; three grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 15, 2004 at the Memorial Baptist Church with the Revs. Ron Page and R.C. Thornberry officiating. Burial in the Lenore Memorial Gardens. Lenore, West Virginia.
