Funeral Services Set Wednesday
Mrs. Lucy Coleman Alverson, 75, widow of Emmet Alverson, passed away at 10:30 o'clock Monday morning at the home of her son, David Alverson, in Kingston.
In failing health for two years, she had been seriously ill for the past three months.
A native of Meade county, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Joseph W. and Mary E. Rush Fowler and was born on May 13, 1874.
She was married to Emmet Alverson in Kentucky on Dec. 25, 1892. She and Mr. Alverson celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on Dec. 25, 1942. Her husband preceded her in death on Feb. 17, 1946.
Mrs. Alverson was a member of the Pilgrim Holiness church in Greensburg.
The survivors are: One daughter, Mrs. Roy (Mable) Zeigler, of Osgood four sons, Albert Alverson, of Indianapolis, David Alverson, of Kingston, Alvin Alverson, of Burney, and Litchfield Alverson, of near Napoleon; one sister, Mrs. Judson Pack, of Indianapolis; three brothers, Richard Fowler, of Louisville, Ky, Joe Fowler and Billie Fowler, of Indianapolis; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A son, Ben Joe Alverson passed away at the age of three years.
Funeral rites will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Howe funeral home. The Rev. Clarence Hamilton will officiate. Burial will be made in the Kingston cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after the noon hour on Tuesday.
