Louisville, Kentucky June 4, 1910
Despondent because her six children had been ill with measles and she herself had been stricken with the disease, Mrs. Ida Powell, 31 years of age, cut her throat at 11 o'clock this morning at her home, 3311 Herman Street. Her little daughter, Edith, eleven years old witnessed the deed and gave the alarm, but before help could come Mrs. Powell was dead.
