Retired U.S. Navy Chief Warrant Officer Clifton C. Crisler, 85, passed away Feb. 6, 2008, from cardiac arrest. He was born and raised in Town Creek with many siblings and half siblings. Clifton joined the Navy at the age of 18 and served during World War II, in Korea and Vietnam. After retirement, Clifton moved back to Town Creek with his wife, Goldie, and their daughter, Doralee. He held several jobs in the Town Creek area, including Monsanto.
Clifton is survived by his daughter, Doralee Searcy, and her husband, Matt, and grandchildren, Andrew, Alexandra and Jamie. He is also survived by two sisters, several half siblings, and many nephews, nieces, grand-nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Barr, Doug Carol, Billy Crisler, Carl Crisler, Greer Crisler, Ussery Crisler, Bobby Loflin and Robert Montgomery.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lance Cleveland, Sherman Crisler and Dr. Jack Montgomery.
Viewing will be held at Jackson Memory Funeral Home in Town Creek on Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Services will follow at Pilgrim Baptist Church in Langtown, just outside of Moulton, at 2 p.m. His body will be cremated.
