Cynthia (Cindy) Anne (Safford) Brock, 74, died peacefully at Bellin Hospital, with her husband by her side.

She was the daughter of Thomas and Georgianna Safford.

Cindy, the oldest of seven children, moved to Rapid River when she was in third grade and in 1966 she graduated from Rapid River High School. She continued her studies at Northern Michigan University and in 1970 she graduated with a home economics education major and English minor. In 1993 she earned her masters degree from Michigan State University. Cindy began her teaching career at Gladstone Public Schools in 1970 and in 1984 she joined the MSU Extension Service of Delta County serving as Extension home economist and later as the county extension director.

On July 18, 1970, she married Peter (Pete) Brock at the Rapid River Congregational Church. She was blessed with three daughters, Amy, Greta, and Elizabeth, 13 grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. Her family was the joy of her life. She was involved with the Foster Grandparent Foundation, and an active member of the United Evangelical Covenant Church of Gladstone, Michigan. She loved the Lord and the many friends she made at the churches she attended over the years.

She lived her life knowing, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."(John 3:16)

Cindy was survived by: her husband, Peter (Pete) Brock; daughters, Amy (Gary) Bridges, Greta; Elizabeth (Darryl) Hansen; 13 grandchildren, Simeon Smith, Derek Smith, Braden Smith, Jacob (Megan) Hansen, Kyle Hansen, Abigail, Anna, Sarah, Thomas, Maria, Olivia, Jonathan, and Josiah Hansen; and great-granddaughter, Georgianna Hansen; and she was anticipating the arrival of a great-grandson in November; sisters, Jenny Saffordd, and Susan (Mike) Safford-Gaulonsin; sister-in-laws, Alice (Wayne) Samuel and Kris Safford; brother-in-law, Ralph (Roberta) Brock; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were: parents, Thomas and Georgianna Safford; brothers, Thomas II, Klint (Dale) Safford, Daniel (Duke), and Sim; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Aaron and Lulla Brock; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard and Dagmar Muma; brother-in-law, Aaron Brock; and sister-in-law, Mary Brock.

Visitation at United Evangelical Covenant Church. Funeral services officiated by Rev Aaron Anderson. Committal Service at the Rapid River Cemetery. Assisted by the Skradski Funeral Homes.

Cindy's lasting wish for all was this, "I want my family and friends to know the following – I have had a wonderful, fulfilling life and I love each of you very much. I want you to know God has been in the center of my life. Heaven is where I am at."
