Lula Mae Absher
Rogersville - Lula Mae Absher, 83, Route 2, died Monday (Oct 9, 1995) at Hawkins County Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.
She was a member of Howe's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church where she taught the children's Sunday school class.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Avery Absher; her parents, Marion and Gertrude Archer Ferrell; and two brothers, Roy and Paul Ferrell.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Foster (Mary Lee) Turner; three sons , Coy James Absher, Harley Absher and Doyle Absher, all of Rogersville ; two grandchildren; one sister, Carrie Davis, Rogersville; four brothers, Bill Ferrell, Carson Ferrell and Earl Ferrell, all of Rogersville and George Ferrell, Bulls Gap; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Broome Funeral Home, Rogersville and other times at the residence of Doyle Absher, Route 2, Howe's Chapel Church Road, Rogersville.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Basil Jones and the Rev. Wane Ferrell officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Howe's Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
