She was born "Anna Augusta Ray" on July 15, 1905, and baptized on Nov. 14, 1905, by Rev. G. J. Hill [Source: Church Register of Methodist Protestant Church, Frederick Circuit (1905-1931), copied and typed by Margaret E. Myers, Frederick, MD, June 1971]

She continued to be reported as Anna Ray in early census records, but at some point she became known as Evelyn Ray. She appears to have been married three times: (1) Harry Hazard in 1936, divorced in 1938, (2) Edward Sears in 1946, and (3) Lawrence Cornelius Stone in 1951.

Obituary

Mrs. Stone's body was found Saturday afternoon by friends of the family visiting from Baltimore. They notified the sheriff's office of the death.

A daughter of Mrs. Lena Orman Ray, RFD 2, Dickerson, and the late Franklin C. Ray [sic, George Frank Ray], Mrs. Stone is survived by her mother and two brothers: Samuel B. Murphy of Glen Burnie and John Franklin Ray [sic, John Maurice Ray] of Poplar Heights; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Harding of RFD 2, Dickerson; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements will be announced. M. R. Etchison and Son, funeral directors.
