Dora Baca Hunter, 86, longtime

Visitation will begin Friday, July 29, 2022, from 9 to 10 o'clock in the morning at Holy Family Catholic Church. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be recited at 10 led by Christine B. Milo. Dora was born September 29, 1935 in Dywer, NM to Federico T. and Eulalia (Placenio) Baca. Dora began working at a very young age excelling in great customer service and hard work, with lots of ambition to assist her large family while she was growing up. Through the years, she had various types of retail positions. She enjoyed meeting and assisting all customers with a radiant smile. Dora enjoyed raising her daughter, Valorie and Son, Bryan. She loved to cook and ensured she prepared various delicious meals for the family. Having a generous heart, she loved sharing a lot of her baked goods with lots of her family members throughout the years. Being avid at crochet, she loved making an abundance of blankets, throws, and other projects all for family to enjoy and remember her by. Now we hold Dora in love and prayer, as God called her safely home.

She is survived by her daughter, Valorie Sherwood of Aurora, CO; 5 sisters, Rose (Danny) Bustamante of Las Cruces, Manuela P. (Gene) Van of Redmond, WA, Ruth B. Costales of AL, Helen (Lorenzo) Valenzuela and Eva B. Uzueta both of Deming; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, as well as many extended family and friends.

Preceding her in death are her parents; her son, Bryan, and 3 siblings, Anita Orosco, Francisco and Antonio Baca.
