William Emelis Littrell, 61, of Grenola was killed instantly Tuesday afternoon two miles east of Grenola when he was struck by a car while he was working in a ditch at the edge of the highway. He was helping a neighbor lay a gas line to his house at the time of the accident. He had lived in Cedar Vale for about 45 years before moving to Grenola two years ago. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at Grenola Church followed by interment in Cedar Vale Cemetery beside the grave of his first wife, Ola, who preceded him in death on January 13, 1947. He is survived by his second wife, Anna; his brothers, John Howard Littrell of Long Beach, California and Samuel Ruben "Ruby" Littrell of Bakersfield, California; his half brothers, Ordie Corbert Littrell, Ross Columbus Littrell, and Claud Edward Littrell, all of Cedar Vale, Henry Ernest Littrell of La Mesa, California and James Nealie Littrell of Winfield; and his half sister, Eva Idella "Della" Hamon of Hollister, Missouri.
