Monnie Jo (Perkey) England, 76 of Cave City passed away Thursday, March 9, 2023 in Searcy. She was born March 15, 1946 in Cave City, Arkansas to Charlie and Gertie (Lassiter) Perkey. She was retired from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), meat and poultry inspection where she worked for 22 years. She was a member of the Maxville Missionary Baptist Church. Jo enjoyed crossword puzzles, quilting, flowers, and "junking" with her daughter, Dianna.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 30 years, Paul L. England; her special friend of 10 years, Thomas J. Qualls; five brothers, J.J Perkey, Paul R. Perkey, Verl Perkey, Von Perkey and Bill Perkey; and one sister, Clois Ray.
She is survived by two sons, Wayne England (Joann) of Cave City, Joe A. "Hank" England (Corie) of Cave City; one daughter, Dianna L. Melton of Cord; three sisters, Glen Davis of Pleasant Grove, Tommie Garland of Southside and Kay Milligan of Russellville; seven grandchildren, Kristy England, Tiffany French (Chris), Patrick England, Joshua England (Bethany), Savanna Tharp (Dillon), Matthew Melton (Shayla) and Greyson Melton (Caysi); two great grandchildren, Sawyer French and Elizabeth Tharp; and several other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Monday, March 13, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Maxville Missionary Baptist Church with Phillip Lewallen officiating. Burial will follow in the Egner Cemetery in Salado with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 12, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews.
