Miss Dorothy Bateman became the bride of Airman Tommy Shirley on 17 June 1957 in a lovely ceremomy in the First Baptist Church in Iredell. The bride was given away by her father. She carried a Bible, on which centered an orchid and carnation bouquet covered with white satin streamers. Bryan Bateman, Jr, brother of the bride was the ring bearer. The couple are at home in Fort Worth. The bride graduated from Iredell High School in 1955 and the bridegroom is stationed at Carswell Air Force Base. He graduated from high school in Norman, Oklahoma. One child was born into this union. The couple divorced.


Mrs. Dortha Shirley married Lee Holub in her mother's living room at Iredell, on 15 April 1967 with Rev. Bill Hayes, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Iredell officiating. The couple will live in Springtown. Mr. Holub is employed at LTV in Grand Prairie. Mrs. Holub is with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.


Dot Holub was a member of the First Baptist Church of Iredell. She moved near Godley in 1973 from Arlington. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bryan and Opal Bateman, and one brother- Butch Bateman. Services were held at the First Baptist Church in Iredell conducted by Dorman Holub, minister of the Eastside Church of Christ in Graham.


Survived by her husband, three sons, one daughter, two brothers, six grandsons, and numerous relatives and friends.
