Services for Bryan Ernest Bateman were held in the Iredell Baptist Church. Mr. Bateman was serving his second term as Bosque County Commissioner Precinct 1 at the time of his death. He had decided not to run for re-election. Survived by his wife; five sons - Ben, Bret, Ernest, Jr., Steve and Wayne Bateman; two daughters - Mrs. Edna Rose Berdami and Miss Dorothy Bateman; three brothers - Tim, Louis, and Walton Bateman; three sisters - Mrs. Ruby Adams, Mrs. Jewel Willingham, Mrs. Albert Grimes; nine grandchildren.
