Floy Rosell Pitt was born October 20, 1913 south of Colony, Oklahoma to William Alford and Leona Mae (Houk) Bennett and died Friday. March 2, 2001 at her daughter's home northwest of Hydro, Oklahoma at the age of 87 years, 4 months and 12 days.
Floy was raised on the family farm south of Colony, Oklahoma and attended the Eureka Rural School. She married Henry Pitt on October 7, 1933. They made their home in Washita County in the Cowden area. In December of 1940 they moved southeast of Hydro where she worked alongside her husband on the family farm. Floy enjoyed sewing, quilting and crocheting. Memorials may be made to the New Season Hospice of Weatherford or Hydro First Responders.
Floy is survived by two sons, Leroy and his wife, Betty of Weatherford, Oklahoma, and H.D. and his wife, Getty of Aurora, Colorado; two daughters, Dorothy and her husband, Roy Folsom of Hydro, Oklahoma, and Mary Lou and her husband, Robert Scouten of Hydro, Oklahoma; two brothers, George Bennett of El Reno, Oklahoma and Leo Bennett of Minco, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren, Cathy Folsom Crain, Vicki Sodders Pebley, Richard Folsom, Charlotte Pitt Perry, Stacey Sodders King, Terry Pitt, Robert Dale Scouten, Becky Pitt Hart, Linda Pitt Brinkley, H.D. Pitt, Jr., and Sandra Pitt; and ten great-grandchildren, Jeremy Pebley, Lyndsey King, Karessa Perry, Danielle Pebley, Koby King, Randi Crain, Lyndon Perry, Courtney Scouten, Josh Scouten, Dakota Hart, Ashton Koym, and Mason Koym; and a special friend, Lemon Nickols. She was preceded in death by her parents, W.A. and Leona Bennett; her husband, Henry; one son, Floyd Dean; two sisters, Gladys Adams and Verna Tully; and seven brothers, Lloyd Bennett, Troy Bennett, Glenn Bennett, Raymond Bennett, Eugene Bennett, Orville Bennett, and Ralph Bennett.
