Wellington was the last of eleven children of Simon Holden Pearson and his first cousin, Amelia (Milly) Holden. In 1885 in Greensburg, he married Letitia (called Tish, Lou, or Lutishie) Grice (1869-1964). The couple had two daughters before Wellington's untimely death: Frances Amelia (Fanny) and Lou Carter (Polly) Pearson. The John David Grice Bible record
(http://files.usgwarchives.net/la/state/bible/lghsbible/bible1-2.txt) indicates that Wellignton was killed accidentally by a gunshot as he got off a horse on May 19, 1888. His wife did not remarry. Letitia was a daughter of John David Grice and Frances J. (Fanny) Hall.
