Seventh of the 16 children of Mahlon Beeson Holden (1791-1846) and Catherine Nichols (1790-1853), Milly married her first cousin Simon Holden Pearson (1821-1887) in 1839 in Hancock Co., MS. The couple, who farmed near Liverpool in St. Helena Parish LA, had eleven children, four daughters and seven sons, seven of whom predeceased her. Four of their children still lived with them at the time of the 1880 census. In 1880, they farmed next door to Thomas Yarborough and his wife, Winifred Pearson, who was one of their daughters. On the other side lived their son Ransom Pearson and his family. The 1900 census shows her as a widow, literate, living with the family of her son James (Jim). Her husband had died 13 years earlier.

Some family stories about Milly confuse her husband, Simon Holden Pearson, with her brother (and uncle of the same name), Simon Pearson Holden.

Milly's birth year is uncertain. The 1880 census indicates it as 1827 and the 1900 census as 1822; a family record says it was 1825. It was most likely 1822, give the birth order of her siblings. Milly is buried next to her husband in the Allen Cemetery in Tinus, St Helena Parish, LA.
