Lawrence Knox Profitt, 83, formerly of Winchester, KY, passed away on February 10, 2022, in Little River, SC. Born in Slade, Kentucky, he was a son of the late William M. and Elizabeth Brewer Profitt. Lawrence was a faithful and active member of the First Church of God. After retiring from IBM in 1992, he joined the staff of Palmer Engineering Company where he worked until 2018. Known as Larry to many of his friends, he enjoyed traveling with his wife and spending time with family. Sports were always a big part of his life. Lawrence followed the Clark County teams and UK. He loved golfing and being on the course any chance he could get. Larry's golfing buddies were friends that lasted a lifetime.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 59 years, Virginia Sue McCall Profitt; his children, Ron Lee Profitt, Kandace Renee' "Kandi" Bensonhaver (Toren); his sisters, Irene Profitt Hatton, Shirley Profitt Young, and countless cousins, nieces and nephews. Siblings Mila P. Adams, Eulis H. Profitt, Pauline "Polly" P. Lojinger, Charles V. Profitt, Illa P. Whisman and Willie E. Profitt predeceased him.
