VERNON RAY BABCOCK
October 16, 1922 ~ January 30, 2022
Vernon Ray Babcock was born on October 16, 1938, in Hugo, Oklahoma, the son of Robert Franklin and Mable Agnes (Brown) Babcock. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Alice Babcock, brothers, Thomas Leon Babcock, Robert Junior Babcock, Edgar Babcock, sisters, Rosie Cooper, Bessie McKee, and Dessie Park.
Vernon was a lifelong resident of Choctaw County and loved the Lord first and foremost. He was an Angel on earth and every night he would kneel beside his kids' bed and lead them in the Lord's Prayer. Vernon pastored for several years in Balch Springs, Texas and Sawyer, Oklahoma. He was a true outdoorsman and great fisherman and loved to hunt and fish. Vernon was a very loving father and grandfather and loved singing and playing the guitar. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Vernon is survived by his sons, Vernon Ray Babcock, Jr of Wilburton, OK and William Patrick Babcock of McAlester, OK; daughter Tammy Marie Babcock of Lexington, KY; grandchildren, Amanda Michelle Wallace, Chelsey Marie Wallace, Zane Williams, Angelica Monique Babcock, Holly Jade Babcock, Noah Ray Babcock, and William Patrick Babcock, Jr.; four great grandchildren and a host of other family, friends and loved ones.
