Carl Colburn, 62, of 406 N. High St., died Wednesday in Chillicothe Hospital after an extended illness.

Born Dec. 23, 1901 in Chillicothe to Albert and Estella Worthen Colburn, he married Bessie Carmean July 2, 1951. She survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Miss Jean Colburn of Washington, D.C.; a son, David of Washington, D.C.; and six sisters, Mrs. Gladys Hatmaker of Chillicothe, Mrs. Blanche Batty of Vigo, Mrs. Pearl Ager and Mrs. Grace Farmer of Columbus, Mrs. Nellie Ott of Miami, Fla., and Mrs. Dorothy Warner of Columbus.

Mr. Colburn was chief of the housekeeping division at the Veterans Administration Hospital for 38 years. He was a World War II veteran and member of UCT, American Legion Post No. 757, and Scioto Lodge No. 6, F&AM.

Service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Fawcett Oliver Funeral Home, with the Rev. Raymond Welch officiating. Burial to follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Kingston.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Friday. A memorial service by members of Scioto Lodge No. 6, F&AM, will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
