Michael is the son of Simion Merkell Loskutoff and Dadeya Nikali Buchnoff. He is one of ten known children: Mary, John, William, Jack, Markel, Nickoli, Alexai, Emma, Matrona, and Hanya.

He married Minnie Maxim Popoff in 1910 in San Francisco, CA. They had six known children: Samuel, Gertrude, Doris, Anne, Maxim, and William. The 1920 and 1930 census show that Michael was a riveter in the ship yards. The family lived on Potrero Hill in San Francisco, CA on De Haro Street. Minnie worked in a laundry. The death certificate transcription shows he also worked in the lumber yards.

"LOSKUTOFF --- November 14, 1960, Michael S., husband of Minnie Loskutoff; loving father of six children; grandfather of seven grandchildren, and great-grandfather of two; a native of Russia, aged 58 years. Services Thursday, 10 a.m., First Russian Molokan Church, 841 Carolina Street; Daphne, San Francisco Funeral Service, One Church Street."
