William Sherman Woodruff of Rochester, died at 3:10p.m. yesterday at Memorial Hospital where he had been admitted on Christmas Day after suffering a hip fracture when he fell while hunting near Rochester. He was 85 years old.

Mr. Woodruff was the son of Thomas and Mildard (Tackett) Woodruff: born in Sangamon County on May 14, 1866 and was engaged as a stock and grain farmer.

His wife Mary died in 1932.
He was a member of the Methodist Church in Rochester

Surviving him are: one-half brother John Woodruff of Rochesster, and one-half -sister Mrs. Mollie Campbell of Springfield, and several nieces and nephews.

Remains are at the Thomas C. Smith Funeral Home Springfield; burial will be in the Rochester Cemetery.
