Fletcher – Judith "Judy" Merrell Kilpatrick, 64, went to be with the Lord Friday, February 2, 2007.

Born in Buncombe County, December 29, 1942, she was the youngest daughter of the late John Henry and Estelle Searcy Merrell.

Judy was a member of the Refuge Christian Center, where she served as the praise and worship leader and was a retired employee of 34 years with Bell South.

She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Robert Kilpatrick; son, Philip Holland and wife Denise of Candler; one granddaughter, Marcella Michelle; one brother, Richard Merrell of Fairview and four sisters, Louise Lyda of Fletcher, Geraldine Duncan and Pat Stoll of Asheville and Frieda Lytle of Fairview.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Willie Penland, Eleanor Carver, Hazel Merrell, Barbara Smith and brothers, Ellard Merrell, Kenneth Merrell, Woodfin Merrell, J.H. Merrell. Jr. and Larry Merrell.

Interment will be in Tweeds Chapel Cemetery.
