CIVIC LEADER, 66, DIES IN LOGAN HOME

LOGAN (Special) — Bartlie Temple (B. T.) Cardon, 66, active Logan civic leader and manager of Cardon's Jewelry Store, died at his home Monday at 8:45 am, following a heart attack.

Active in Logan' community affairs, he had served in official capacities in numerous local organizations
throughout his life.

Mr. Cardon was born in Logan May 8, 1885, a son of Thomas B. and Lucy S. Cardon. Educated in Logan city schools, he attended Brigham Young College and Utah State Agricultural College and was a graduate of Illinois College of Optometry.

He married Jennie Murdock November 22,1905. She died May 27, 1940. He later married Lettie Turner Rasmussen.

Since 1914 Mr. Cardon had been manager of Cardon's Jewelry Store and had been a past president of the Logan Rotary Club and was active in the Cache Chamber of Commerce. For many years he was a director of the Logan Home Building Society.

Surviving are his widow, mother, one son, Lt. Philip Cardon, Logan; four daughters: Mrs. J. L. (Joan) Vanderhoff, Camp Polk, La.; Mrs. Carl A. (Gayle) Smith, Sugar City, Ida.; Mrs. Jean (Annette) Carlos, Bountiful, and Mrs. John (Lou Jean) Evans, Logan; two step-daughters, Mrs. Leroy (Gray) Anderson said Mrs. John (Jane) Broberg, Logan.

Also surviving are 18 grandchildren and three brothers and three sisters: Ariel F. Cardon, Los Altos, California; Mrs. Edna C. Langton, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Greta C. Rechow and O. Guy Cardon, Logan; P. V. Cardon, Washington, D. C., and Mrs. Claire Sullivan, Los Angeles, Califonia and the following half-brothers and half-sisters: Ray H. Cardon, St. Anthony, Idaho: Mrs. Vida Adams and Mrs. Tessa Smith, Logan; Mrs. Grace McDonald, Price, and Mrs. Genevieve Klingler, Rexburg, Idaho.
