Japen Hansel Jr.
Manchester, Ia. -- Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Gill Funeral Home here for Japen Hansel, Jr., 30, veteran of World War II, who died Friday at his home after a long illness resulting from injury suffered while in the Army. The Rev. W.A. Adix, pastor of the First Lutheran Church, will officiate and burial will be in the Hansel Cemetery at Garber.
Hansel, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Japen Hansel, Sr., was born July 18, 1917, at Garber, where he received his education. He came to Manchester 11 years ago. He was married March 17, 1942, to Margaret Schutt. After his Army service he was a truck driver for Delaware County.
Survivors include his wife, two sons, John Jay and Douglas Lee and his parents, all of Manchestesr, four sisters, Mrs. Rex King of Hot Springs, Calif., Mrs. Thomas Cross of McDonald, Pa., Mrs. Robert Hatfield and Mrs. Roger Fuller, both of Manchester; four brothers, Leroy and Lloyd, both of Littleport, Clifford of Boise, Idaho, and Francis of Manchester. A brother, Ernest, and two sisters, Edna and Berniece, preceded him.
