William L. Fordyce, 91, widely known retired farmer of Center Township, died at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 20, 1958, at his home on Hargus Creek following a short illness.

A lifelong resident of Center Township, he was born October 14, 1866, a son of the late Silas and Jane Orndoff Fordyce. He was a member of the Willow Grove Christian Church. He was twice married and both wives are deceased. By his first wife, Cora Mitchell Fordyce, he leaves two sons and two daughters: R. Allen Fordyce of Northeast, Hester, wife of J. H. Orndoff of Waynesburg R.D. 5; Howard D. Fordyce of Lakewood, O., and Olive, wife of Warren DeLancy, of Pittsburgh. His second wife was Emma Lynch Fordyce and by this union he leaves two daughters, Mary, wife of Charles Mitchell, of Rogersville, and Mrs. Bernice Lee of New York City. There are 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Mr. Fordyce was the last of his family.
