MRS. NEVA LINA GARRETT'S SERVICES HELD SUNDAY

Funeral services for Mrs. Neva Lina Garrett were held Sunday, April 9, 1961 at 2:30 p.m. at the Assembly of God Church, Minco with Rev. Vernon Shay, assisted by Rev. Jim Bennett and Rev. Ray Charlton, in charge.

Pallbearer were Oscar Black, Don Harris, Ed Hale, Kenneth Brown, Fred Brown and Harl Gore.

The songs, "Take Up Thy Cross and Follow Me", "Someone to Care", and "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow " were sung by Mary Caldwell, Burris Caldwell, Anita Parks and Betty Sue Fox with Linda Smith at the piano.

Neva Lina Garrett was born in Canadian County northwest of Minco, on August 8, 1913; and departed this life on April 6, 1961 in Oklahoma City at the age of 47 years 7 months and 28 days. She was converted on August 16, 1940 at the Spring Creek Holiness Church and received baptism on July 28, 1949.

On May 27, 1931 , she united in marriage to Claude Columbus Garrett, at Spring Creek, and to this union six children were born.

She has lived in the community most of her life and is a member of the Timberridge Free Holiness Church west of Minco.

Survivors include her husband Claude of the home, three sons , Wesley Claude Garrett, Oklahoma City, Ronald Garrett and Dale Garrett of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Loretta Faye Miller, Blanchard, Mrs. Nola Mitchell, Union City and Miss Paula Garrett of the home.

Four step children: Adrian Garrett, Tuttle, Mrs Geneva Kuhlman, Minco, Marland Garrett , Oklahoma City, Mrs. Elaine Marsh, Wichita, Kansas, 29 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Also her mother, Mrs Iva Armstrong, Union City; three brothers Carl Armstrong, Union City; Gilbert Armstrong Union City, Adrian Armstrong, Visilia, Calif.; two sisters Mrs. Violet Gardna, Ork, Washinton; Mrs. Ellen Morgan, Hinton.

Her father Charles A. Armstrong and two brothers Harland and Garland preceded her in death.

Burial was at the Hazel Dell Cemetery, west of Minco , under the direction of Reynolds Funeral Home.
