GRACE ELZINA "ZINA" SHREFFLER, 93, of Cranberry RD 1, died unexpectedly at 10 p.m. Tuesday, August 23, 1983 at her residence where her daughter and son-in-law, Ethel and Ralph Shorts, made their home with her. Born February 6, 1890, near Nickleville, she was a daughter of Mariah Katherine Exley and John Charles Fremont Boyer. She was married July 3, 1907, to Samuel Augustus Shreffler. He preceded her in death on March 23, 1970. Mrs. Shreffler was a homemaker and proficient in making quilts and Indian weave rugs. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Ethel) Shorts of Cranberry RD 1, Mrs. Grace Latchaw of DeLand, FL and Mrs. Scott (Ada Mae) Mason of Streetsboro, OH; six sons, Virgil Leroy Shreffler of St. Petersburg, Robert Edward Shreffler of Cranberry RD 1, Ronald Dean Shreffler of Emlenton RD 1, and Gerald, Eugene and John (Jack) Shreffler, all of Jal, NM; 47 grandchildren; 103 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Other survivors include five sisters: Mrs. Edwin (Margie) Weeter of Knox RD 2, Carrie Friggle of Broken Arrow, OK, Blanche Boyer of Brookville, Dorothy Bell of Clarion and Mildred Rogers of Oil City; one brother, Merle Boyer of Henrys Bend; and several nieces and nephews. Her husband, four grandsons, two granddaughters, three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 2 t0 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the William N. Rupert Mortuary in Knox. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the home with Rev. Daryl Mitchell, pastor of Turkey City Church of God, officiating. Interment will be in the Nickleville Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
