Dorothy J. BELL, 97, of Brevilier Village Court Nursing Home, Erie, formerly of Strattanville RD 1, died late Sunday evening, Feb. 13, 2000, in the nursing home.

Born Jan. 26, 1903, in Nickleville, Salem Township, she was a daughter of John Charles Freemont BOYER and Kathryn Maria EXLEY Boyer.

Mrs. Bell attended the Manor United Methodist Church at Shippenville RD 2, Paint Township.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Bell was married in Shippenville June 18, 1924, to Raymond T. Bell, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are six sons, Edgar L. Bell of Strattanville, Fred N. Bell of Garrerttsville, Ohio, William T. Bell of Summerville, Arnold L. Bell of Wilkes-Barre, Raymond W. Bell of Knox and James R. Bell of Clarion; five daughters, Ruth G. HETRICK of Orlando, Fla., Alice Pauline Bell of Brookville, Lois M. Exley of Interlochen, Fla., Phyllis A. FIAMELLA of North East and Dorothy Lucille MALMGREN of Erie; 56 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Bell was preceded in death by a son, Merle R. '' Bus'' Bell; two daughters, Rebecca J. COCHRAN and Bonnie J. Bell; seven sisters, Carrie FRIGGLE, Nellie HINKLE, Gladys NEUBAUER, Mildred ROGERS, Blanche Boyer, Margie WEETER and Zina SHREFFLER; and three brothers, Merle Boyer, Clyde Boyer and Clem Boyer.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, Clarion.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Jerry Belloit, pastor of the Manor United Methodist Church, officiating.

Interment will follow in the Cedarview Memorial Park near Strattanville.

Memorial donations may be made to the Manor United Methodist Church, RD 2, Shippenville, 16254.
