Madison was the son of Madison Sr and Lucy Kelley Klotz. He was a 2nd Lieutenant in the Infantry in World War I.

Muscatine Journal - December 10, 1970 - Funeral services for Madison William Klotz, Jr. will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Ute Stacy Lewis Funeral Home, Columbus Junction. The body will arrive from North Carolina Saturday and visitation will begin that evening at 7. Rev. Denley Ganfield of the United Presbyterian church will officiate and burial will be in the Columbus City cemetery.

Mr. Klotz, 76, Gibsonville, N.C., died Tuesday at 8 a.m. at the Burlington Hospital, Burlington, N.C. He was born Dec. 14, 1893 at Columbus Junction, the son of Madison William and Lucy Kelly Klotz. He married Mae Letts Gipple and was a veteran of World War I.

Survivors include his widow; a son, Madison William Klotz III, Durham, N.C.; three step-sons, Arthur Gipple, Burlington, N.C.; Robert Gipple, Gibsonville, N.C.; Charles Gipple, Greensboro, N.C.; one step-daughter, Mrs. Jane Carson, Reston, Va.; and a sister, Mrs. Harry Fornare, St. Paul, Minn.

He was preceded in death by a daughter.
