Obituary
John Ervin Calcamp, 90, of Eglon, WV, passed away September 21, 2021, at Garrett Regional Medical Center. He was born May 10, 1931, in Eglon, WV; the son to the late Gus and Lura (Harsh) Calcamp.

John was a veteran of U.S. Marine Corps. He was self-employed as a general contractor and later in life, worked for Island Creek Coal in maintenance. He volunteered his time as a caretaker of the Accident Community Cemetery where he went above and beyond for many, many years. He was a former member of the Mt. Grove Fire Department and the Mountain Lions Club. He was affiliated with the Maple Grove Assembly of God Church. John enjoyed farming, wood working, fishing and hunting. John was a Wheeler-Dealer but he was known most for his willingness to help others.

He is survived by three sisters, Juanita Stemple, Eglon, WV, Delores Kelley, Leadmine, WV and Virginia Roth and husband Gay, Thomas, WV.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his love of his life on June 5, 2015, Lois "Jean" Calcamp, whom he married on July 3, 1954; four brothers, Wayne, Lawrence, Donald and Cecil Calcamp; and one sister, Lela Slaubaugh.

Friends will be received at Hinkle-Fenner Funeral Home, Friday, September 24, 2021, from 4 – 7 PM. A funeral service will be held, 11:00 am, Saturday, September 25, 2021, at the funeral home with Pastor Ryan Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the Accident Community Cemetery. The Hinkle-Fenner Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Calcamp Family.

We kindly ask that masks be worn at all times while attending services.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Maple Grove Assembly of God Church or the Accident Community Cemetery.
