Nellene Gainey, 73, of Ellisville, died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2001, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Jones Funeral Home in Ellisville, with burial in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Ellisville. The Rev. Cliff Lazenby will officiate. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary 3024 in Laurel. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlie and Nancy Buckalew; four sisters; and one brother. She is survived by her husband, James Warren Gainey Jr. of Ellisville; one son and daughter-in-law, Ceiborn W. and Claudia Gainey of Ellisville; one daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Pat Thompson of Moselle; three brothers, Jessie Buckalew of Shubuta, Russell Buckalew of Wayne County and Tillis Buckalew of Arkansas; two sisters, Netta Hoover of Laurel and Nancy Blue of Wayne County; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Brad Thompson, Robert Gainey, John Thompson, Carl Hankins, Joe Powell and Harry Hollimon. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Reon and Robert Ramsey. Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. today, at Jones Funeral Home in Ellisville, which is in charge of arrangements.
