LAVETTA ANGELLEY
February 1, 1931 ~ July 20, 2021 (age 90)

Martha Lavetta (Hill) Angelley, age 90 joined her heavenly family Tuesday, July 20, 2021 in Idabel, OK, after a lengthy illness.

She was born February 1, 1931 in Cisco, OK, to John and Myrtle (Tucker) Hill the fourth of six children. Lavetta attended grade school at Cisco and graduated from Idabel Gray High School in 1949.

She married James Angelley June 16, 1951 in De Queen, AR and he preceded her in death after 38 years if marriage in 1989.

Lavetta was the bookkeeper for Herron Industries for more than 64 years before retiring. She enjoyed flower gardening , taking care of her house plants, decorating her home and detailing her own car.

Lavetta had the most spoiled dogs in Idabel, one poodle and one chow, Junior. The poodle, Jacque, went with Lavetta and James for an ice cream cone after work and had his own car seat. She liked going to Broken Bow Lake in the early days of the lake, attending country and western, gospel and Elvis Presley concerts when she traveled. Her favorites were: Elvis, George Jones, Alan Jackson, The Easters and the Gaither Family.

Lavetta was a longtime member of the Central Baptist Church. She was very active in her Church, holding many positions down through the years.

She was preceded in death by parents; and her husband; three brothers, Marion, Marshall and John Hill; and a sister, Willie Augustine Warren.

Lavetta is survived by her sister, Ollie Legate of Ada, OK; niece, Angie McCombs and Cody of Broken Arrow, OK; nephews, Charles W. Hill of Rogers, AR, Dale Legate of Whitesboro, TX, Kregg Hill of Garland, TX, Darrell Whitten and Kathie and their children, Glenn and Laura Whitten, Greg and Melinda Whitten, Karen and Phillip Holland, all of McKinney, TX, Dennis Whitten and Dorthea of Idabel, OK and an extra special friend, Muriel Overstreet of Idabel, OK; several other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at the White Family Funeral Chapel with Bro. Cole Bryan of Central Baptist Church officiating, assisted by Rev. Daniel Williams of Damascus, AR. Interment will follow at the Denison Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 23, 2021 at the White Family Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Central Baptist Church, Red River Museum or the Forest Heritage Center.
