RIMERSBURG - A Rimersburg woman whose son was found dead on Wednesday in South Korea died yesterday in Clarion Hospital.

Mrs. Twila Phame Hamm, 66, had reportedly been scheduled to be discharged from the hospital. Her son, Gerald Steele, 34, had been serving with the U. S. Army Military Police when he apparently died in his sleep.

Mrs. Hamm was born August 24, 1902, in Porter Township, a daughter of William O. and Nancy Hook Dixon. She married James Edwin Steele who died on February 12, 1948. In 1952 she married Thomas Hamm. He died on June 30, 1960.

Mrs. Hamm spent her winters in Florida and her summers with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Steele of Rimersburg RD.

She is survived by four sons, William B. Steele and Paul E. Steele of Rimersburg, RD, Ronald E. Steele of Coraopolis Heights and Robert W. Steele of Eau Gallic, Fla.; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Helen Weaver of Knox; 15 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Harry (Laura) Burford of Freeport and Mrs. Thomas (Parma) Mooney of New Bethlehem RD.

In addition to her husband's and son, Gerald, she was preceded in death by another son, James Steele on March 23, 1946.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home with Rev. J.C. Himes, pastor of the West lay in Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Rimersburg Cemetery.
