William Hussong
GALENA, Kan. — William Roy Hussong, 66, 1108 Baker St., died at 10:06 a.m. Sunday at St. John’s Regional Medical Center, Joplin, Mo., after a long illness.
Mr. Hussong was born Sept. 19, 1923, at Picher, Okla. He had lived in Galena since the age of 13, moving from Neosho, Mo. He was an operator at Atlas Powder Plant in Joplin from 1961 to 1982. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific.
He married Anna Bernice McKinzie on Sept. 14, 1946, in Galena. She survives.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Delores Hussong and Billie "Jeannie” Hussong, both of Galena; two brothers, Elmer Hussong, Galena, and John Hussong, Carl Junction, Mo.; a sister, Elnora Watson, Independence; and two half sisters, Jewell Brazell, Anderson, Mo., and Betty Brewster, Baxter Springs.
Arrangements are pending with Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena.
