Delores Ann "Dee" Hussong, age 74, passed away at 5:40 pm, Monday, March 28, 2022 at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, MO following an illness.
Dee was born April 25, 1947 in Joplin, MO. Her parents were Roy and Bernice (McKinzie) Hussong. She was a lifelong resident of Galena, KS.
She graduated from Galena High School with the class of 1965. She later earned a Masters in Education degree at Pitt State University, Pittsburg, KS. She began working for USD 499, Galena, KS in the early 1970's and continued teaching there until her retirement over 30 years later.
She attended Park Hill Church of the Nazarene, Galena, KS. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting. She loved caring for her cats and her two dogs Annie and Willie.
She is survived by several cousins, and her best friend, Margaret Fritz.
Dee was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Billie Jeanette "Jeannie" Hussong.
Graveside services will beat 2:00 pm, Thursday, March 31, 2022 at Hill Crest Cemetery, Galena, KS. Pastor Audie Tash will officiate.
Viewing will be from noon until 1:45pm, Thursday, March 31, 2022 at Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS.
