GALENA, KANSAS: Anna Bernice Hussong, age 85, died at 3:00 pm, Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at St. Johns Regional Medical Center, Joplin, MO
She was born August 25, 1924 in Fayetteville, AR to Benjamin and Iva Mae (Sharp) McKinzie. They lived in the Picher-Treece OK Mining area where she went to school and during the war, she had worked as a seamstress at Glennberry, Picher, OK.

Anna met the love of her life William Roy Hussong during World War II and was married on September 14, 1946 in Galena, KS after he returned from the Navy. He passed away October 1, 1989. She was also preceded in death by one son, Baby Hussong, who died at birth in 1949; and six brothers and sisters. James David (Bud) McKinzie, Bertha Miller, Lois Ferguson, Lawton Earl "Bill" McKinzie, Melvin Ray McKinzie, and Bonnie Conrad.

Surviving are two daughters, Delores Hussong, and Billie Jean Hussong, both of Galena.

She was a member of the Park Hill Nazarene Church, Galena, KS. She loved life, teaching crochet, and caring for other people.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Monday, January 18, 2010 at Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS. Pastor Ernie Watson will officiate. Burial will be in Hill Crest Cemetery, Galena, KS

Pallbearers will be Lenny Ferguson, Rusty Ferguson, Ben McKinzie, Kevin McKinzie, Roger Ashe, and Curtis Conrad.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 4:00 pm, Sunday, January 17 at the funeral home.
