On February 25, 1866 Ivey married Sarah "Sallie" Small King in Jones County. Their children included George Washington King and Lucy Jane King Whaley. Ivey died in 1912, and he and his wife Sallie are probably buried near their son, George Washington King, and other relatives in Pleasant Hill Christian Church Cemetery in Jones County, North Carolina.
