David Andrew Amosson of Celine, Texas, died Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at Medical City of Plano, Texas. David Andrew Amosson was born August 10, 1943, at Eagle Grove, Iowa, the son of Harold Raymond and Vaughna Marion Martin Amosson. He grew up on a farm east of town and graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1961. He went on to attend Indian Hills Community College studying computer programming, becoming an information technology cyber tech. He worked for several years in the insurance industry for different companies becoming the youngest Senior Vice President at Pioneer Life Insurance Co. in Pennsylvania. He later formed his own company AMO-Farmers Insurance in Sherman and Dallas, Texas, retiring in 2012.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara of Celine; son, Tony (Jean) Amosson of Clive, Iowa; daughters: Tamara Amosson of Carrollton, Texas, and Teresa (Tony) Tempel of Webster City, Iowa; sisters: Lynne (Wayne) Jennings and Julia Rutledge of Eagle Grove, Iowa; brother, Stephen (Margaret) Amosson of Amarillo, Texas; and grandchildren: Hunter and Logan Tempel of Webster City, and Grant Amosson of Carrollton; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Martin Amosson; grandsons, Christopher and Jacob Amosson; and a brother, Jerry Amosson.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of David's life to be held July 1, 2017, from 3 to 5 p.m., at the VFW Post in Eagle Grove.
