Julia Marion Amosson Rutledge was born August 4, 1945 in Eagle Grove, IA to Harold Raymond and Vaughna Marion Amosson. She attended country school until it’s closing, then continuing at Eagle Grove High School graduating in 1963. She was united in marriage to William Ray Rutledge on January 8, 1965 in Eagle Grove, IA. Julia graduated from Bernel School of Cosmetology and worked in many shops until opening her own out of her home, while raising their children Aaron, Heather and Vaughna. After moving to the family farm and she started working at Graham’s clothing where she eventually became the manager until its closing. After her son become sick she became inspired to go to nursing school graduating with her RN. She worked at several places such as the Clarion Hospital, the nursing home in Eagle, AEA (to name a few) and the Eagle Grove Group Home where she retired from. She kept herself busy in retirement by volunteering and donating time and money to various projects, but one of her most cherished was a surgery volunteer at Iowa Specialty Hospital. Her passions were walking endless miles, many with her sidekick Ashly; her family gatherings; and traveling, with her most recent trip to Hawaii with her brother and family that she boasted about.

Julia was a strong, loving, and wise cracking lady that faced adversity many times and came through. This time was not to be, as her body was tired, but her heart and mind fought most courageously to stay with us. It is a tremendous honor to have known her and she will never be forgotten.

Julia is survived by her husband Bill (William); son Aaron (Wanda) Rutledge; daughter Heather (Marc) Hutchinson; daughter Vaughna (Thom) Rethman; grandchildren-Jon, Alex, Beth, Tiffany, Tabitha, TC, Brandon (Aaron/Wanda): Brant (Heather/Marc); Darian, Alix, Connor, Noah (Vaughna/Thom) and 13 great grandchildren; sister Lynne (Wayne) Jennings; brother Steve (Maggie) Amosson; sister-in-law Mary (Jose) Anaya; Christey (Mike) Hurley and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Jerry and David, sister-in-law Connie (Jerry), nephew Marty Amosson, and great nephews, Christopher and Jacob Amosson.
