Doris Carter Hughes left this earth to be with her Heavenly Father May 10th . She was the most caring, compassionate ,generous , loving , sweet , humble person with an immeasurable Faith and Love for The Lord. She always put her family before herself and this world was a better place with her in it.
She was born July 8th 1928 to Della Virginia Rhodes Carter and James Richard Carter both preceded her in death.
She was a such a strong woman she was a two time Cancer survivor. She started having issues with her heart a few months ago and she fought until her little body couldn't take it . She passed with family present and was in her daughter's arms being hugged and kissed when she took her last breath.
She was a farmer and after going through a divorce she had to work multiple jobs throughout the years and was a caregiver for the elderly when she retired . She worked hard to provide for her family as a single Mother and she never complained . She gave to anyone in need with no regard to herself .
She is survived by a son Glenn Joyce (Bob) and a daughter Tanya Joyce Ryan
She is preceded in death by son Timothy Lee Joyce (Tim) and grandson Terry Joyce
Survived by Grandchildren: Nicole Jessup, Johnny Isley, Joshua Joyce, Timmy Joyce, Gerren Joyce, Joey Joyce and Chase Lunsford; Great Grandchildren Sabrina Monroe, Johnny Isley Jr. Ryan Joyce, Tyler Joyce, Kelsie Joyce, Lexie Joyce, Isac Joyce, Bellea Driver, Laycee Joyce, Jaxsen Joyce, Ava Joyce, Anjuah Joyce and Cora Bullins and three great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by Brothers Charlie, Royal and James Carter and sisters Lonie Beck and Stella Wilkins and survived by sister Leola Reid
Per her request the Service will be at Graveside Sunday May 16th at 2:00 pm at Oak Grove Baptist Church
Because of her generosity and constantly giving to others there was no funds put aside for burial.
