Roy R. Coyle, 75, passed away peacefully, at home, with family by his side, on May 6, 2021.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 14, 2021 at the Calvary Evangelical Free Church in Bagley, MN at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be held at the Clearwater Lutheran Cemetery in Shevlin, MN. Military honors will be accorded by the Irvin Blix American Legion Post #16 of Bagley, MN. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with arrangements.

Roy and his twin sister, Joy, were born at home in rural Shevlin, MN to George and Josie (VanHorn) Coyle on April 2, 1946. Before joining the Navy, the spring of 1968, he worked for the Bagley Peeler. Upon his return from bootcamp, he married the love of his life, Helen Halverson, on July 27, 1968, at the Clearwater Lutheran Church in Shevlin, MN. Roy was stationed in Long Beach California on the USS Long Beach CGN9. During his time in the Navy, he was deployed twice, to the Shores of Vietnam. He was honorably discharged on October 30, 1969. Upon his discharge, he returned home to his family in Shevlin, MN. Roy was a farmer, logger and construction worker prior to retiring in 2008. He loved music, whether it was dancing to it, singing it or playing his guitar, he also enjoyed hunting. Roy's greatest love was for his family who he loved spending time with, and also for his faithful companion, King.
