Emma Halverson, 67, of Shevlin, MN, died on Friday, July 29, 2011 at the Clearwater County Memorial Hospital in Bagley, MN.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Clearwater Lutheran Church in Shevlin, MN with Pastor Jill Torgerson officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 6:30 PM at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bagley, MN. Interment will be at the Clearwater Lutheran Cemetery in Shevlin, MN. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted with the arrangements.

Emma was born in Shevlin, Minnesota on January 19, 1944, the daughter of George and Josie (Van Horn) Coyle. She attended school in Shevlin and Bagley.

Emma married Fred Halverson on March 4, 1961 in the parsonage in Shevlin, MN. She worked as a cook at the Clearwater County Memorial Hospital, Lundmark's Café, and the Village Café in Shevlin. She worked as a home health aide for Beltrami County retiring in 2002.

Emma enjoyed bowling, playing cards, softball, watching the demolition derby and car racing and spending time with family and friends. She was a member of The Clearwater Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband- Fred of Shevlin, MN Four Daughters- Kay (Karl) Petersen of Bagley, MN Terri (Mike) Erickson of Bagley, MN Tammy (Chad) Steindl of Bagley, MN Kathy (Mike) Broman of Willmar, MN One Son- Bradley (DeAnna) Halverson of Shevlin, MN Three Sisters- Doris (Ralph) Ellis of Bagley, MN Deloris (Buzz) Olson of Sentinel Butte, N.D. Etta (Arlan) Halverson of Ft. Morgan, CO Two Brothers- Otto (Eunice) Coyle of Bagley, MN Roy (Helen) Coyle of Shevlin, MN Sister-in-law- Charlotte Coyle of Bagley, MN 12 grandchildren 4 great grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her parents, infant sister- Joy brother- Ernest Coyle, Brother-in-law- Lawrence Lein, and a sister-in-law- JoAnn Halverson, and 2 grandsons- Adam Petersen and Jerald Reed.
