Jeanette Roegner, 81, of Jacksonville, went home to be with the Lord on April 2, 2021. She was born in Ware County, Georgia to Oran & Pearl Sweat where she was raised on a farm. She lived in Jacksonville for the past 57 years where she was a longtime member of Hyde Park Baptist Church. She was a "My Fair Lady" volunteer with The Greater Jacksonville Agricultural Fair for 20 years, of which her husband served as the General Manager. She also spent many years as a Food Broker Sales Representative servicing grocery stores. Jeanette enjoyed fishing at her lake place in Hawthorne, Florida, watching college football and basketball and was involved in the 4H community. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and honoring family traditions. Preceding her in death were 2 brothers, Wilbur Sweat and Wallace Sweat. Survivors include her husband of almost 61 years, Gary L. Roegner; 2 daughters, Tanya Mixon (Sammy) and Tracey Peeples (Kevin); 3 grandchildren, Leighanna Cole (Matt), Wyatt Peeples and Stacie Peeples; great-grandchild, Landon Cole; brother, Ernest Sweat (Nan); sisters-in-law, Shirley Sweat and Jackie Sweat along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Memorial services will be held 2PM Friday, April 16, 2021 at West Jacksonville Baptist Church, 5634 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205 with Pastor Rodney Kelley officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. The burial of her cremated remains will occur at a later date at Jacksonville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32257.
