Clarence H. Bush, 87, 1411 McDonald St., retired railroad man, died Monday morning at a Sioux City nursing home after a year's illness. Mr. Bush was born April 2, 1883, at Sterling, Ill., and came to Sioux City 46 years ago. He was employed by the Chicago & North Western Railroad for 31 years before retiring in 1953. He was employed at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital before retiring again in 1963. He married Sadie Wright Dec. 31, 1912, in Sioux City. She died here in 1938. He married Grace Postma in May, 1944. Mr. Bush was a member of Whitfield United Methodist Church; Columbia Lodge 13, Knights of Pythias; Bancroft Golden Age Club; Brotherhood of Railway and Steamship Clerks, No. 389, and National Association of Retired and Veteran Railway Employees, No. 65. Survivors include the widow; two sons, Robert and LaVerne, both of Los Angeles; a daughter, Mrs. Freeman Cobb of Sioux City; four brothers, Robert of Sioux City, Charles of Los Angeles, and Ed and Leonard, both of Battle Creek, Iowa; a sister, Mrs. Bertha Pattison, Sioux Falls; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; three stepsons, Loren Irwin, Sioux City; Clare Irwin, Omaha, and Maynard, in Calif.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Grace Buckley of Omaha; nine step-grandchildren, and 10 step-great-grandchildren. The body was taken to the Anderson Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Clarence H. Bush, 87, 1411 McDonald St., will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Anderson Funeral Home. The Rev. Harold V. Bartz, pastor of Whitfield United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Cushing Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Richard McMullen, Darrell Dokken, Neill Cleveland, Richard Hartnett, Gerald Anderson and Larry Hanson. Mr. Bush died Monday at a Sioux City nursing home after a year's illness.
