The Correctionville News, 6 October 1938, page 3: The many Cushing friends of Mrs. Clarence Bush of Sioux City were grieved to hear that she had passed away Thursday. Mrs. Bush had been a patient sufferer for many weeks following an operation, and death came as a welcome release from her pain. Sadie May Wright was born near Randolph in Pierce County, Nebraska, on August 24, 1894, and died at her home in Sioux City September 29, 1938, at the age of 44 years, 1 month and 5 days. When but a small child she moved with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Wright, to a farm near Cushing and lived in this community until she married Clarence Bush on December 31, 1912. The couple made their home in Battle Creek for a short time, after which they settled in Cushing. They lived here until December 4, 1920, when they moved to Sioux City. Mrs. Bush joined the Methodist Church in Cushing on February 6, 1916. She was endowed with a loving disposition and, in her generous way, was always ready to do kind things for others. Besides her widower, she leaves one daughter and two sons to mourn, Mrs. Freeman (Beth Bush) Cobb, LaVern and Robert Bush, and three granddaughters, Connie, Barbara and Patricia Cobb, all of Sioux City. She also leaves a sister, Mrs. Ed B. Volkert of Cushing and many other more distant relatives and many friends. Funeral services in charge of Rev. Harry Whyte of Kingsley and Rev. A.C. Long, were conducted at the Methodist Church in Cushing at 2 p.m. Sunday. Interment was in the Cushing Cemetery under direction of Wilson-Hull Service.
