Claud McCormick Rites Held Today
Claud Edward McCormick, 52, who passed away Sunday morning at 7:30 o'clock at his residence, Danville 3, will be laid to rest today.
Funeral services will be held this afternoon at three o'clock at Neel Methodist church by Rev. Walker Bynum and Rev. Addie Wallace with interment following in the Johnson Chapel cemetery, Peck directing. Nephews will be pallbearers.
Mr. McCormick is survived by his wife; one son, Truitt of Danville 3; three daughters, Gladys, Estelle and Hazel, all of Danville 3; one brother, A. R. of Danville 3; three sisters, Mrs. J. R. Brown of Hartselle, Mrs. W. T. Brown of Hartselle 2 and Mrs. J. P. Hensley of Danville 2.

Neel News - The community is saddened by the death of Claud McCormick who passed away Sunday morning here. Mr. McCormick had been ill for some time. The community extends deepest sympathy to the family and loved ones.

Claud McCormick,the son of William Anderson McCormick and Eliza Ellen Harlow, was born in Colbert Co., Alabama. He married Elsie Naomi Moore in 1917. They lived in Lawrence Co., Alabama after their marriage and then moved just across the Morgan County line north of Danville. They moved to Neel in the 1930's.
He was a farmer, who grew mostly corn and cotton, but also raised sugar cane and made sorghum syrup at his syrup mill for his family's use and also to sell to the public.
Claud died of tuberculosis at the age of 52 at his home in Neel.
