Joyce "Oleta" (Manning) Harrison, 84, of McAlester, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Walnut Grove Living Center.
The family will have a private burial at Oak Hill Cemetery. Public memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel in McAlester with Chaplain Louis Reynolds officiating.
Oleta was born on May 13, 1936 in McAlester to Frank and Myrtle (Phipps) Manning. She married Tildon Franklin Harrison on August 13, 1957 in McAlester. She was a Medical Aide for the Department of Human Services. She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles and singing gospel music. She was Pentecostal but last attended the Salvation Army Church until their closing.
Survivors include a daughter, Karen Vandegriff of Ada, OK; son, Mark Harrison of Tannehill, OK; granddaughter, Callista Vandegriff of Ada, OK; sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Lynell Sloan of Sulphur, OK and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Myrtle Manning; husband, Tildon Franklin Harrison; son-in-law, Bill Vandegriff; brothers, Elmer "Bud" Manning, Joe Manning, Benny Manning, Charles Manning and Jerry Manning; sisters, Gladys Pryor, Frances Adams, Alene King, Vonetta Frye and Mary J. Manos.
