Born in Massey, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Frank M. and Myrtle (Phipps) Manning. She married Herschel D. King on Nov. 25, 1946, in Tucumcari, New Mexico. They lived in Santa Fe, N.M. from 1946 to 1966, where they owned and operated Kings Rest Court. They then moved to Ardmore, where they lived from 1966 to 1968 and owned and operated Jobbership for Fina Oil Company. They then moved to Hereford, Texas, where they lived from 1969 to 1979 and owned and operated the Plains Motel. After retirement in 1979, they moved back to McAlester. Her husband preceded her in death on April 22, 1988. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herschel D. King; a daughter, Camille J. King; a sister and brother-in-law, Gladys and Lee Pryor; three brothers, Joe M., Benny L., and Jerry Manning; three brothers-in-law, Woodson Adams, Tildon Harrison and J.B. "Dick" Howell; a niece, Susan Howell and her nephews, Douglas and Chris Manning.
